This product includes a low-voltage supply-current (V SUP ) of about 10 µA per channel and it is rated for a power-dissipated operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C. Its fast switching time of 5 ns ensures that no audio or video artifacts are created when switching. The switch pin comes in contact with the base of the transistor. When the switch pin is connected to the lower voltage line, the transistor\'s base is negatively biased and no current is flowing to the switch pin. The opposite scenario happens when the switch pin is connected to the higher voltage line. In this scenario, the transistor\'s base is positively biased which then draws current to the switch pin.

The MAX4614CPD also includes a built-in protection against transient voltages. This protection feature is activated whenever the switch pin is driven by a voltage that exceeds the power supply voltage. This protection circuit allows the switch pin to be driven by voltages up to -12V or 6V on the higher voltage line. This protective feature ensures that the switch pin is not damaged by frequent voltage spikes.
