The MAX4690EPE is applicable to the switching of digital, RF and I/O signal, signal multiplexing, audio and video signal routing, data acquisition and signal switching applications. The MAX4690EPE is composed of a high-speed switch array with multiple logic-controlled channels and a clock driver. Each channel is associated with two single-pole and double-throw (SPDT) switches, for a total of sixteen switches. The two switches connected to each channel offer the ability to multiplex two signals with just one part. The clock driver allows for low-frequency multiplexing of signals while the logic input allows for higher speed switching operations. All the signals, including the clock, can be driven by the same I2C port. This makes it easy to control and switch the signals, and reduces wiring complexity.
