The MAX4733EUA+ is a single chip interface solution for Analog Switches, Multiplexers, Demultiplexers, in a µMAX package. It is a high-performance, low-power device that enables users to have their centralized switching hub. This device includes 4 buffered analog switches, 2 digital multiplexers (MUXs), and 4 digital demultiplexers (DEMUXs), designed to operate in a wide range of switch requirements such as low distortion, low charge injection, and excellent linearity.
In its application field, the MAX4733EUA+ can be found in automotive battery and power management solutions, audio systems, as well as in radio frequency (RF) front-ends. It also is used in various non-automotive applications which require low voltage connections, such as high-density memory systems and flash memory systems, telecommunications systems, LCD displays, and portable audio or data equipment.
The working principle behind the MAX4733EUA+ uses four inputs and four outputs, each with their own switches. The four inputs are connected to the 4-bit MUX and DEMUX respectively, whereas the 4-bit MUX is used to control the switch-through of either side of the inputs and outputs. The MAX4733EUA+ is configured to make individual connections between two pairs of single-ended ports. It also has the ability to switch one side of the four outputs to any one of the four inputs.
To enable the pins, the MAX4733EUA+ has four select pins, one enable pin, and two enable bar pins. These pins are used to configure the active, floating (Hi-Z), and the safety-off state of the analog switches. The enable pins determine which single-ended port will be connected to the other. The active state is for when analog signals go through the switches, whereas the floating (Hi-Z) state helps prevent any shorts from occurring.
