Working Principle

The working principle of MAX5906UEE+ is that it consists of a temperature compensated voltage detector followed by a 8-bit high current output driver. The built-in comparator uses the reference voltages to detect the threshold voltage. When the voltage goes below the threshold voltage, the comparator outputs 0 and the source of the output MOSFET will be turned off.

Moreover, the power good output of MAX5906UEE+ is connected in parallel with the monitored voltage. When the monitored voltage is greater than the allowed threshold, the power good output will be 0 and the source of the output MOSFET will be turned on. Additionally, the device offers adjustable current limit and the device will protect itself from thermal failure with automatic current limitation.
