The MAX5934AEEE+ is a Hot Swap Controllers (PMIC) used in a wide range of applications. It provides Hot-Swap protection for safely and reliably controlling 48V or 12V systems, allowing the system to be hot-swap without the risk of component damage. The MAX5934AEEE+ is designed to provide a wide range of hot-swap protection and power sequencing features. The product has a high-precision current-limit threshold that can be adjusted over a wide range between 10mA and 10A, allowing the user to tailor the Hot-Swap protection to the specific system requirements. The product also offers reverse-current protection, an overvoltage protection both controlling the current and shutting off the device when the input voltage rises above the set threshold. The device also allows up to four power-sequence states to be programmed, allowing the system to be powered up in the correct order to ensure system reliability. Working Principle
The MAX5934AEEE+ provides Hot Swap and power-sequencing control by monitoring the input voltage and the load current. The product has a high-precision current limit threshold that is adjustable over a wide range between 10mA and 10A. The device shuts off when the input voltage rises above the preset threshold and also allows up to four power-sequence states to be programmed. The active current-limit ramp feature helps to reduce inrush current during initial power-up.
The MAX5934AEEE+ has a reverse-current protection feature that allows direct current to flow in the backward direction from negative output to positive output. This feature helps prevent the system from being damaged due to a reversed direction of current flow. The device also has an overvoltage protection feature that shuts off the device when the input voltage rises above the preset threshold, helping to protect the load and the system against any potential damage.
