PMIC - Hot Swap Controllers
The MAX5950ETJ+ is a PMIC - Hot Swap Controller from Texas Instruments. It is designed to control and protect hot-swap circuitry for up to three independent systems powered from an unregulated bus. It provides extra current with low power dissipation, provides reverse current protection, and regulates inrush current when powering up the system.

The MAX5950ETJ+ also provides an over-voltage protection (OVP) against any high voltage from the power source. The Response time of the protection circuit is programmable, and also provides an Overtemperature control that limits the power dissipation of the hot-swap devices.
