The MAX875AESA+ is a low-noise, high-performance voltage reference that belongs to the power management integrated circuit (PMIC) family. It offers high precision, low noise and low power figures, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.The device works as an amplifier-regulated voltage reference by outputting a low-temperature-drift reference voltage with a low level of noise, creating a reference voltage that is independent of temperature and power supply voltage. This is accomplished through the active regulation of a voltage reference to produce a fixed, low-noise output voltage which is then filtered by on-board capacitors.The MAX875AESA+ has two available outputs. The first output, “OUT1”, is regulated to within ±10mV of the reference voltage, while the second output (“OUT2”) is regulated to within ±100mV. Both outputs are band-restricted from 2MHz to 10MHz, ensuring a constant amount of additional noise suppression and low-frequency noise rejection. Thanks to the addition of a wide bandwidth gain bandwidth, the MAX875AESA+ is also capable of providing excellent AC and DC load regulation.The device features a wide range of operating voltages from 8V to 16V, allowing for a variety of applications. With a low voltage feature that drops the quiescent current down to 300 μA, the device offers an optimal power consumption. It is also able to start up or recover from overcurrent and overvoltage conditions, providing robust performance and added protection against faults.The MAX875AESA+ provides a wide range of protection circuitry which monitors the device’s current and voltage conditions in order to ensure safe operation. It has a short-circuit protection at the output and during overcurrent conditions, it can enter into an output power limiting mode. The device also has thermal protection capability and can shut down upon detection of excessive junction temperatures.In sum, the MAX875AESA+ provides an ideal solution for a variety of applications such as precision amplifiers, active filters, A/D converters, voltage regulator modules, and various sensor readout circuits.
