The MC100LVEL11DG is a low skew, 2.5V to 3.3V differential-to-LVPECL fanout buffer and driver with a single or dual-port output designed to be used in a variety of applications, such as clock distributions, synchronous RAMs, SONET OC-3 communication systems and PCM multiplexers. It is manufactured using ON Semiconductor\'s BiCMOS and BCD ultrathin process technologies.
The MC100LVEL11DG has four separate output stages, each of which can drive two LVPECL outputs. Each output stage is designed to generate a 50Ω differential output impedance at the edge of the board and across the frequency range required by various LVPECL standards. The output stage also includes active local clocking for increased skew, which is adjustable through the CLK line. The IC has an integrated crystal oscillator, which can be used to generate system clocks. For applications requiring higher frequency clocking, an external crystal oscillator can be used. The IC also has the ability to drive lower voltage logic, such as CMOS, SSTL and LVCMOS.
The MC100LVEL11DG is designed to meet the stringent timing requirements of clock distribution systems. It features a ±2ns skew between outputs and can operate at up to 250 MHz.
