The MC9S12C Family is Freescale Semiconductor\'s most comprehensive Flash-based microcontroller family, including a wide range of members often referred to as "C" derivatives. The family provides the right combination of features, peripherals and cost-effectiveness to meet most low-end system requirements. The MC9S12C Family is built around a 16-bit based architecture, with 25 addressing modes and arithmetic instructions optimized for 8, 16 and 32 bits of data. The MC9S12C Family provides ease of use with a two-stage instruction pipeline and internal clock division for compatibility with slower peripherals.
The MC9S12C64CFAER is the latest MC9S12C family member. This device is a complete 8-bit microcontroller with integrated 8K bytes of on-chip Flash memory, 256 bytes of RAM and several analog peripherals such as an analog-to-digital converter.
