Working Principle

The MCP131T-270E/LB uses an internal reference to compare the voltage at its VIN pin to the predetermined reset voltage threshold and hysteresis. The device has two Reset Voltage Ranges, which can be set via the input signal at its VTH pin. The minimum reset voltage can be manually adjusted by varying the signal at the VTH pin.The device also has two optional reset/watchdog timers. The first is a watchdog timer, which triggers a reset signal if a signal is not received on its WDI pin within a fixed time period. When the EN pin is set low, the device will not generate a reset signal and all active resets are cleared.The reset signal can be asserted using the manual reset pin RST# or the open drain /push-pull external reset pinERS. The external reset pin can be connected to external power, peripheral devices, and circuits to generate a reset signal.
