The MCP3202-BI/SN is one of the most common ADC type of integrated circuits available today. It is an 8-bit, low-power IC with a wide range of applications.The MCP3202-BI/SN is designed to operate from a single supply of 2.7 to 5.5 volts and is powered with a current of 600 µA typical. It is suitable for converting DC signals from +2.56V to -2.55V with a low offset of about 0.15mV and a gain error of 0.1%. The ADC supports sampling rates up to 100kSPS and provides an 8-bit serial output. The MCP3202-BI/SN features two differential inputs which can be configured to convert a single-ended signal. The differential input range can be set to+/-10mV, +/-50mV, +/-100mV, +/-500mV and +/-2.56V. The input impedance of each differential input is 10kΩ but it can be powered down to 500Ω for faster updates. The M CP3202-BI/SN also offers a builtin programmable gain amplifier (PGA) which can adjust the gain from 2X to 256X.
