It supports selectable gain, which can be adjusted in 8 steps: 1X, 2X, 4X, 8X, 16X, 32X, 64X and 128X. The device can also be programmed to sample at up to 14 sample rate settings, ranging from 8.2kHz to 30kHz. The device has a wide input range of 0V to Vref (1.2V or 2.048V).
The working principle of the MCP3426A2-E/MS is based on the simple latching algorithm. The device converts the input signal into successive samples and holds each sample until the next conversion is complete. The integrated sample-and-hold (S/H) circuit reduces the number and cost of components, as well as keeps the input signal isolation at a minimum.
The MCP3426A2-E/MS also features an internal voltage reference for stable conversion and temperature coefficient tracking. It can provide temperature measurement accuracy of up to 0.25°C with a temperature accuracy of ±2°C. The device has high common mode rejection (CMRR) of 85 dB, which reduces the effect of external interference and increases the signal accuracy.
The MCP3426A2-E/MS also features a digital isolation circuit that provides isolation from the digital control interface.
