Data Acquisition - Analog to Digital Converters (ADC) - MCP3202T-CI/MS application field and working principle

The MCP3202T-CI/MS is an analog-to-digital converter manufactured by Microchip Technologies, Inc. It is a 12-bit successive approximation converter and is designed, using Flash memory technology, to eliminate lengthy hardware development. It is suited for low power applications and is available in a wide range of packages and pin configurations. The converter features a wide power supply range from 2V to 5.5V, and includes a digital control logic for easy sequencing. It is ideal for industrial and consumer applications, including digital power meters, remote sensors, medical imaging equipment, and automotive and battery-powered systems.

The input impedance of the MCP3202T-CI/MS is 10kΩ. It accepts a negative voltage of -0.3V to a positive voltage of VREF. The device has a sampling rate of 28 ksps with a 12-bit resolution and a conversion rate of 1 MHz.
