The MCP6062T-E/SN device is a low-power, low-voltage operational amplifier. It belongs to a family of precision amplifiers that use complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) technology and are designed for use in a wide range of linear, instrumentation, operational amplifier (op-amp), buffer amplifier, and small-signal, sensor-signal conditioning applications. The device is based on a single-stage, common-mode feedback input circuitry and open-loop gain that exhibit very low noise, low bias current and low input offset current.

Features

The MCP6062T-E/SN features a wide range of features specially designed to provide operation in instrumentation, low-power, low-voltage, mixed-signal and power management applications. It has a wide range of operating voltage (1V to 8.5V), and utilizes CMOS output stages to provide a low output offset voltage of less than 0.5mV. The device has low power consumption of only 5nA and can be operated at a maximum supply voltage of 8.5V.

The device has an output range of ±1V to ±8V and features a low gain bandwidth extension of 2.2MHz at unity-gain bandwidth. It is also capable of low-noise operation in the range of 2.5nV/√Hz. It has an output drive capability of 35mA, and has a high input impedance of 1GΩ.

Application Field

The MCP6062T-E/SN can be utilized in a wide range of instrumentation, low-power, low-voltage and mixed-signal applications. This includes medical instrumentation, process control, automotive control applications, low-power input signal conditioning, power management applications, battery-powered systems, general purpose audio amplifiers, and many other similar applications. The device is also suitable for data acquisition, signal isolation, and thermal management applications.

Working Principle

The MCP6062T-E/SN provides low offset, low noise and high output drive capability for precision signal processing and low-power operation. It features a single-stage common-mode feedback input circuitry and open-loop gain that are optimized for linear operation. The common-mode feedback is used to adjust the gain of the input stage, thereby allowing for the amplification of input signals within specified levels. In addition, the feedback increases the input impedance of the device, resulting in a low noise level amplification.

The output of the input stage is further conditioned by an integrated output stage composed of a pair of complementary transistors. The open-loop gain and bandwidth of this stage is further affected by the feedback signal, which is used to adjust the output voltage swing as well as the signal-to-noise ratio. The open-loop gain of this stage also provides a low distortion output waveform, ensuring a high degree of signal fidelity.
