<p>The MCZ33897BEFR2 is a high-performance Type-C transceiver from the MCZ family and is designed to provide better signal performance and system level power savings in applications such as USB3.1, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, and HDMI. It is an ultra-low power consumption transceiver that supports Type-C connector with USB 2.0/3.0/3.1 Gen 2 compliant modes at a maximum rate of 10 Gb/s, and DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 compliant modes at a maximum rate of 8.1 Gb/s. The MCZ33897BEFR2 also supports USB Power Delivery (PD) up to 100 W and HDMI 2.0 at a maximum rate of 6 Gb/s.</p><p>The MCZ33897BEFR2 is a highly integrated solution for Type-C applications, with the integration of a Type-C port controller, VBUS (power) controller and a multi-lane serial link (MLSL) transceiver. The Type-C port controller supports all Type-C features, including Power Role Swap (PRS) and Alternate Mode (AM) operations. It is also compliant with USB-IF “Try and Error” requirements for PD and controls the VBUS voltage and current. The VBUS controller provides overcurrent and overtemperature protection, and monitors the VBUS temperature.</p><p>The MLSL transceiver of the MCZ33897BEFR2 is a high-performance DSCC-compliant transceiver. It supports up to 4 differential/8 single-ended input/output (I/O) lanes, with link speeds up to 10 Gb/s per lane. It also supports both 8b/10b and 16b/20b embedded scrambling, and is optimized to reduce power consumption while supporting superior signal integrity characteristics. The transceiver features programmable equalization, pre-emphasis, and source-synchronous clocks, and includes built-in mechanisms for detecting errors and for in-system loopback testing.</p><p>The MCZ33897BEFR2 is a versatile solution for low-power Type-C applications, as it supports up to 4 differential/8 single-ended lanes, with link speeds up to 10 Gb/s per lane.
