MIC2025.V Application Field and Working Principle

The MIC2025.V is a miniature, low-cost SMD (surface Mount Device) fuse developed by Nakatomi Engineering. It is one of the latest additions to their circuit protection lineup and offers a wide range of protection for circuits in a wide variety of applications.

The MIC2025.V is a quick blow, or fast-acting, fuse, meaning that the fuse rapidly responds to any surge of current, thereby protecting the sensitive components from sustaining damage. It can accommodate currents up to 20A and is suitable for a variety of power supplies and automotive applications.

The device has an ultra-compact, low-profile design consisting of a metal strip sandwiched between two ceramic casing pieces. The metal strip is designed to melt quickly when a current surge is encountered and to open the circuit, protecting the connected components. The fuse also has a metal tab to allow for easier mounting onto the motherboard.
