Temperature Sensors - Analog and Digital Output
Temperature sensing technology has come a long way in providing various types of sensors with numerous output options for real-time temperature sensing and control. The MIC281-6YM6-TR analog and digital output temperature sensor is a modern, small form factor, and high accuracy device that combines many of the benefits of both analog and digital temperature sensors.The MIC281-6YM6-TR temperature sensor is designed to operate in the range of -40 to +125°C, with an accuracy of 0.5°C (the accuracy is ±0.75°C over the full temperature range). It contains a precision thermistor and an integrated 16-bit analog to digital converter (ADC) that accurately measures temperature over the specified temperature range. The output is provided by a pair of serial ports with digital and analog outputs.The MIC281-6YM6-TR output is configured by the on-board configuration registers to output either a digital or analog signal. The digital output is in the form of a synchronous serial communication protocol (SSP) which transmits 16-bit temperature-related data over two wires in a data frames. The analog output is provided via a single-ended analog voltage output which varies from 0 – 5V providing a resolution resolution of 0.0025°C per bit. The MIC281-6YM6-TR features an on-chip watchdog to keep the sensor operating within the specified limits. In case of a temperature sensing failure, the watchdog outputs a signal, alerting the system to the problem and allowing the system to take corrective action. In addition, the MIC281-6YM6-TR is designed for both low- and high-voltage operations. It can be operated from 3.3V, 5V, and 12V power supply, and is provided with an integrated voltage regulator for low-voltage operation. Additionally, the device features low power consumption, allowing for long battery life.The MIC281-6YM6-TR analog and digital output temperature sensor is ideal for a variety of applications, such as HVAC/R, white goods, industrial and automotive applications, thermal management, and more. Its small form factor, high accuracy, and multiple output options make it an attractive choice for these applications where temperature monitoring and control are required. Overall, the MIC281-6YM6-TR is an intuitive and reliable temperature sensor that provides an accurate, digital and analog output for monitoring and controlling temperatures in a variety of applications.
