MIC4469CWM is a high performance single-phase motor driver controller intended for use in small DC motor applications. It offers a complete motor control solution in a single integrated device, and can be used to drive brush or brushless DC motors in low current or medium current applications.

The MIC4469CWM is designed to provide reliable and efficient control and operation of a single-phase BLDC, PMBLDC, or BLCDC motor. It features a high-current gate-drive circuit and a novel power MOSFET gate drive scheme that minimizes breakout current. Additionally, the IC features an isolated gate driver that features a true three-phase 180° commutation signal, a low-noise power supply and a high-speed analog comparator. The IC also features a programmable over-temperature protection and a programmable fault-input.

The MIC4469CWM is particularly suitable for use in industrial, consumer, and automotive applications such as small size fans, pumps, and blowers; light-duty power tools; home and business appliances like vacuum cleaners, food processors, and juicers; and in automotive applications such as air-conditioning systems, door locks, and window lifts.

The MIC4469CWM\'s working principle involves a combination of the three-phase commutation signal and the low-noise power supply. The three-phase commutation signal ensures that the motor is controlled only when it is in the correct position by pushing the gate into the correct position, allowing the motor to start without any pre-commutation. Meanwhile, the low-noise power supply supplies sufficient voltage to the gate drive and prevents ringing. When the three-phase commutation signal and the low-noise power supply are used together, it ensures that the motor will run at optimum speed and efficiency.

The MIC4469CWM also features a programmable over-temperature protection (OTP) and a programmable fault-input. The OTP is designed to detect an excessive rise in temperature and will shut down the circuit before any damage is done. The fault-input is used to detect and alert when an over voltage or overcurrent is detected. This feature helps to provide safety features, making it suitable for use in industrial applications.
