Working Principle

The MIC4721YMM-TR DC-DC converter uses a synchronous buck converter with two internal high-side FETs and two low-side FETs. The internal MOSFETs are connected in an H-bridge configuration to form a push-pull type converter, which uses a clock signal to drive both FETs. The cycle-by-cycle current limit is typically enabled in pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode and the converter can operate in fixed frequency mode or in fast response mode with a frequency ramping algorithm. This DC-DC converter uses input current mode control that maintains low hysteresis as well as fast response time.
