MIC49150-1.5BMM Application Field and Working PrincipleThe MIC49150-1.5BMM is a fixed frequency, maximum power point (MPP) tracking (MPPT) linear regulator from the MIC4915x Voltage Regulator family. It is an ideal choice for automotive applications requiring maximum power point (MPP) tracking and maximum efficiency. The device’s flexible configuration includes a wide input voltage range, an adjustable current limit feature (up to 1.5A), and built-in protection features.
The MIC49150-1.5BMM linear regulator’s adjustable switching frequency allows the device to be configured to optimize the efficiency and performance of the system, while maintaining the maximum average input current. The device’s versatile architecture allows the user to vary the current limit between 0.5A and 1.5A while still achieving the maximum input current.
The MIC49150-1.5BMM is available in both surface mount and non-surface mount packages, and is qualified for Automotive Temperature Grade H and is covered by an agency certification for use in automotive applications.

This adjustable current limit feature helps to keep the overall system current in check, and prevents the MIC49150-1.5BMM Linear Regulator from overloading.
