The MIC4830YML-TR is an advanced integrated circuit designed to provide ballast control solutions in lighting applications. It is a synchronous boost type LED ballast controller that works in constant current drive mode. This ballast controller is capable of converting input voltage up to 60 VDC, allowing designers to use a wide range of input sources, including AC, DC and solar power supplies. The MIC4830YML-TR has a PowerPSoC on board, making it a flexible, high-performance ballast controller for a wide range of lighting solutions.

The MIC4830YML-TR includes several integrated features to provide more efficient and reliable ballast control. The dead time of the cycle is the minimum period between the trailing edges of the synchronous switch, during this period the rest of the components are deactivated.

The MIC4830YML-TR has adjustable current limit, which is determined by the external resistor connected to either of the current sensing inputs (CS1 and CS2). This resistor sets the voltage at the current sensing pins, which provides feedback to the internal regulator. The voltage programmed at the CS pins is compared to the voltage at the RDRV output. The current limit is set so that when the voltage at the RDRV output exceeds the voltage at the current sensing pins, the internal regulator will switch off the power switch, effectively limiting the current.

The MIC4830YML-TR also includes an on board PowerPSoC, which is a high-performance digital processor that supports a broad range of current sensing applications. The on board PowerPSoC allows for fast and precise current limit setting, high speed short circuit detection, and precise PWM control. It also includes a real time clock to allow for precise time based current limit adjustment. The real time clock can be configured to automatically turn the MIC4830YML-TR on or off at specific times, allowing the ballast to be adjusted to changing lighting conditions.

The MIC4830YML-TR features a proprietary EZ-MOS technology that improves its efficiency and reliability.
