The MIC5211 voltage regulator from the MIC52xx series provides an output voltage of 1.8V or 3.3V. It is a low noise 3-terminal fixed output linear voltage regulator for SMPS post regulation and on-card regulation. The linear voltage regulator allows a very tight line and load regulation, superior output noise and is available in a SOT-89 package.

The linear voltage regulator includes a power FET, together with associated voltage feedback control, error amplifier and current limiter circuitry. The feedback control provides a regulated output voltage that is independent of the input voltage and moderate changes in the load and line currents.The MIC5211-1.8/3.3 BM6-TR will provide at least 200mA of output current with a supply voltage between 3.2V and 6V. Higher loads are possible with higher voltage supplies. The current limit, latching shutdown and thermal shutdown ensure that the voltage regulator and other components are not damaged in extreme operation conditions by providing protection against excessive currents and/or excessive device temperatures.
