The MIC5333-PPYMT-TR is an advanced, low quiescent linear voltage regulator designed to provide high precision, low noise and low cost power supply solutions for a variety of applications. This high performance device is able to deliver up to 6A of continuous output current while offering a low dropout voltage and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The MIC5333-PPYMT-TR is a cost-effective alternative to a full surface mount (SMD) solution and fits most standard power management applications such as electric vehicle (EV) chargers and laptop power supplies.The MIC5333-PPYMT-TR is an easy-to-use, low power, low noise multiphase switched mode linear voltage regulator with integrated fast transient response and high accuracy over-current protection. This device is optimized for high PSRR capability to reduce input ripple and noise, as well as improved output voltage regulation. It helps reduce the number of components needed in the design, resulting in improved system reliability, reduced board costs and faster time to market. The device is an ideal solution for high current, low voltage applications.
The MIC5333-PPYMT-TR utilizes advanced multiphase switching technology to control the output voltage. This is done by using four independent power switches that are connected in a parallel configuration. Each of the switches is driven by its own control circuit set to a different switching frequency which results in reduced EMI noise and improved efficiency when compared to a single switch regulator. The circuit is also optimized for low quiescent current, providing high battery life and power savings.The device\'s voltage set point is adjustable from 0.6V to 4.9V. It can be controlled by an external voltage divider or an analog signal. A high voltage shutdown threshold is also available to protect the output voltage from over-voltage conditions.
