The device is an enhanced digital electronic supervisor solution, designed to provide voltage monitoring, reset generation and wait timing controls for system design applications, such as high-efficiency DC/DC 3V to 3.3V buck converters.The primary function of a supervisor is to monitor the voltage outputs, also known as the power rails, of the system and determine when a complete power-on reset is necessary. Supervisors are also designed to detect the various power supply faults, including under-voltage, over-voltage, brownout, and loss of power supply. The MIC6315-31D4UY-TR supervisor can detect up to four different input voltages from 0.8V to 10.0V and provides a reset signal when power consumption exceeds a certain level.In addition to power-on reset and power fault detection, supervisors are used for additional system monitoring such as wait timer control, temperature monitoring and clock supervision. The MIC6315-31D4UY-TR includes two selectable wait timers for longer system warm-up or wait state control, and can be programmed with up to four different temperature thresholds and up to four selectable reference clock frequency limits.The combination of the above functions makes the MIC6315-31D4UY-TR ideal for DC/DC buck converter applications, as it provides many features designed to improve the accuracy and reliability of the circuits while providing excellent system power management. Furthermore, the device provides a variety of clock supervision functions, such as disconnection, safe power-down, power-on reset and system reboot, which further enhances system reliability.The core of the MIC6315-31D4UY-TR is a highly integrated power management chip, which includes a wide variety of analog functions, digital logic, and monitoring and supervising functions that provide superior power management. It combines its digital logic, analog circuits and power management features on a single chip.
