Working Principle
The MIC810TYC3-TR provides a low-noise reset output signal which is generated when the system voltage falls below a predetermined threshold. To accurately detect small changes in input voltage, the MIC810TYC3-TR has an internal voltage reference. This reference voltage is compared with the voltage of the monitored power supply rail, when the monitored voltage falls below the reference, a reset signal is triggered.
The MIC810TYC3-TR features a programmable reset-delay timing and a reset timeout function. The delay timing is generally determined by the value of an external capacitor and the output signal is generated only after the delay. The reset timeout is enabled if an external capacitor is connected and the reset signal will be generated when the reset timeout period has expired.
In addition to the programmable delay and reset timeout capability, the MIC810TYC3-TR also provides an optional push button reset signal. This signal can be used to manually reset the device and is applied with a steady 1.6V output.
The MIC810TYC3-TR is designed to provide up to 200mA of current drive, which is sufficient to pull either the input low or high. For the reset output, a low-impedance output drive of 1.6V is required, ensuring that the reset signal is generated at the correct level.
