Working Principle

The MIKROE-2445 uses a Freescale S08 MC9S24 microcontroller for the development of embedded applications. This 32-bit MCU offers up to 32 kilobytes of single-cycle Flash memory, with up to 3.125 kB of SRAM. The MCU also features multiple internal peripherals, including two channel UARTs, two channel I2Cs, two channel SPI, 8-bit Timer/Counter and two 16-bit Timer/Counters. The integrated 48Mhz Frequency Synthesizer (FSEPLL) helps in optimizing the system clock speed, while the integrated 3-channel 16-bit PWM module provides better control of motors, stepper motor drives, and DC servos.In addition to providing the appropriate connectivity for MC9S24, the MIKROE-2445 also provides two analog-to-digital and two digital-to-analog (DAC) converters. Moreover, the integrated USB 2.0 interface provides communication with up to 24 MHz of speed. The board also includes several integrated peripherals, like a temperature sensor, TFT LCD and LED drivers, EEPROM, switch and lamp drivers.
