MK5818S is designed as a programmable clock generator/frequency synthesizer chip. It is specially used for providing low-jitter clock signals in applications requiring precision synchronization, such as communication and multimedia systems. The MK5818S integrates a highly flexible onboard programmable ring-oscillator, enabling the flexibility to change reference clock frequencies quickly. The device supports outputs up to 100MHz and the output selectable options include different combinations of clock sources for each of the three main outputs.
The main features of the MK5818S include a wide operating voltage range up to 5.5V; ultra-low jitter performance of below 20ps; high-performance phase-locked loop (PLL); integrated crystal oscillator circuit; and adjustable output frequencies.
