Working Principle

The 74HC4316MTCX contains eight poles each of which can be independently set as either an ‘On’ or ‘Off’ switch. When a signal is sent to the control line (A pin), the respective pole switches that signal along the either of the two outputs A or B (Q or Y pin pairs – Q0 and Y0, Q1 and Y1). This device allows for switching of two or four signals where when two are switched, the A pin is tied low and when four are switched the A pin is tied high.

This device operates at a wide range of voltages from approximately 1 V - 6 V, making it ideal for use in a variety of low-voltage circuits. It is also extremely reliable, with an extremely low current drain of less than 500µA for the entire device. This makes it power efficient and reliable in its operation.
