Working Principles of MM74HC573N
The MM74HC573N consists of two 4-bit storage registers and two different sets of five-stage data latches. This 8-bit static latch is designed for use in digital systems to respond to control signals and establish a given status determined by the control signals and latched data. The synchronized pins (CP1 and CP2) are the clock inputs of each 4-bit static latch. The master reset pin (MR) acts as a reset when a voltage level is applied to this pin.
The 8-bit static latch consists of two 4-bit static latches (A and B) and they have one data input (DA1, DB1) and four outputs (QA1~QA4, QB1~QB4). If the CP pins are set to high, the latched state of the data input will be stored, and the inverted output will be updated. The data is latched one by one, and each 4-bit static latch will be updated to the same state.
The MM74HC573N uses asynchronous master reset, this reset is active low and is asynchronous to the clock and data. When MR is active, the data outputs are forced to ‘0’, independent of the inputs and clock. If a low-level signal is applied to MR pins, both 4-bit static latches will be reset to the initial state.
The MM74HC573N chip is more suitable for digital systems because of their low power dissipation, large fan-out and high noise immunity, among other features. This 8-bit static latch is suitable for high-speed memory applications because the raise and fall times can reach a minimum of 10ns, with a maximum of 30 ns.
