MMSZ28VCF diodes are available in a range of packages and operating voltages ranging from 3.8V up to 51V.The primary function of the MMSZ28VCF diode is to provide protection from reversed currents and electrical transients. The MMSZ28VCF is able to protect against lightning surges, high-voltage spikes and other potentially damaging over-voltage situations. To protect against reverse voltage and over-voltage conditions, the diode is connected to the load with a reverse polarity configuration. As current flows through the diode, the reverse bias creates a potential barrier that prevents reverse current from damaging loads.In addition, the MMSZ28VCF has an extremely low breakdown voltage, lower than most other diodes, which makes it more suitable for managing voltages and currents in high power applications. The low voltage breakdown helps avert the possibility of excess current draw on the load, resulting in over-heating, breakage or damage.The MMSZ28VCF also has a symmetrical operating voltage range and is designed to protect the load from transient voltage shocks.
