It offers up to eleven configurable input pins for single ended voltage or current sensing, plus two additional logic input pins. In addition to its robust input pins it has an integrated watchdog timer (WDT) with multiple timeout periods adjustable up to 4032 clock cycles. Also featured is a Voltage levels monitor (VLM) which is used to monitor and regulate the power supply voltage of the system, providing 10 configurable voltage levels with a resolution of 4mV for high accuracy. The device also has a built in brownout detector that can detect a decrease in the supply voltage as low as 0.991V, as well as an input remaining feature which allows the user to determine if an input has been received within a configured time period.Working Principle of MN13812-G
The MN13812-G is designed to provide superior monitoring and control of digital systems by detecting and monitoring various conditions, states or levels within the system. It does this by utilizing a combination of monitoring methods and techniques. The device works by constantly monitoring its input pins for voltage or current values that exceed the specified thresholds, if any are detected the device will then trigger an interrupt, assert a reset or both depending on the specified configuration.The device also utilizes a watchdog timer to measure time periods between reset commands, if the time period exceeds the specified timeout period, an interrupt is generated and a reset is asserted to protect against system lock-up.The brownout detector also helps to protect the system by setting a voltage threshold that when reached invokes an interrupt or reset. This helps to protect the system in the event of a voltage drop or power failure.In summary, the MN13812-G is a powerful microcontroller supervisor which is suitable for monitoring and controlling digital systems in a wide variety of applications.
