Optoisolators - Transistor, Photovoltaic Output
Optoisolators are a type of isolator used to isolate two circuits from one another, usually to provide electrical isolation and/or to prevent operating faults from propagating to sensitive components. The most common type of optoisolator is the transistor, photovoltaic output (MOC81073SD) which consists of an LED, a photodiode, and a Darlington phototransistor. When an electrical signal is applied to the LED, it emits light which is converted by the photodiode into a small amount of current.
