Working Principle:The MP26059DQ-LF-Z uses a regulated charge control algorithm to ensure a constant current/voltage (CC/CV) battery charging profile. It enables a switch-mode battery charge solution with an optimal tradeoff between conversion efficiency and ripple voltage over a wide input supply range, allowing for higher efficiency at lower input voltages. Its charge control algorithm includes two parts: constant current charging and constant voltage charging. During the constant current charging phase, the IC limits the current to the programmed constant current charge level and then gradually reduces from this value when the battery voltage reaches the programmed constant voltage level. Then, during the constant voltage charging phase, the battery charger times out and ends the charge cycle after a fixed amount of time.The device also includes temperature monitoring and protection elements which protect the battery from over-temperature and shorts. It also includes an input and output over-voltage protection.
