MPC5553EVBISYS Application Field and Working Principle
The MPC5553EVBISYS is an evaluation board for Freescale’s Power-Architecture based multi-core microcontrollers (MCUs). It combines the advantages of a stand-alone system with a complete software development platform. Its main purpose is the quick and easy comparison of various MCUs and porting of different software stacks to the embedded systems.
The board is ideal for applications in automotive, consumer, industrial, wireless and networking automation. Working Principle
The MPC5553EVBISYS is based on the Freescale MPC555 processor, an enhanced version of the popular MPC555 architecture. It supports MPC5553 dual-core 64-bit PowerPC cores running up to 500MHz. The board includes special memory and device controllers that provide the needed hardware to run a real-time operating system (RTOS). It supports a wide range of peripherals including Ethernet, CAN, USB, Serial, video/audio, SD/CAN transceivers and others.
