Working Principle

The MPC93R52FA is a frequency synthesizer. It operates by taking an input frequency, multiplying it by a fractional fraction, and then dividing it again by another fractional fraction to generate an output frequency that is related to the input frequency.The MPC93R52FA uses a Frequency Synthesis Methodology to generate multiple output frequencies from a single reference frequency. This approach allows the output frequencies to be precisely controlled and adjusted by changing the multiplying and dividing fractions. The MPC93R52FA also features a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) architecture which enables it to maintain the desired frequency and phase synchronization between the reference signal and output signal. The PLL consists of two parts: A phase-frequency detector (PFD) and a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO). The phase-frequency detector constantly monitors the phase and frequency differences between the reference signal and the generated output signal and adjusts the frequency accordingly. The voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) then controls the frequency of the generated output signal based on the signal provided by the PFD. The MPC93R52FA is highly customisable and can be configured to produce a wide variety of output frequencies ranging from 1MHz to 10MHz. The device includes a comprehensive set of control registers in order to adjust the output frequency, the PLL bandwidth, and the output jitter. The MPC93R52FA features a wide range of features designed to improve performance and simplify setup. The device comes with an integrated temperature compensation circuit to reduce stability variations that may occur due to changes in temperature. The temperature compensation circuit provides stability over -40°C to + 150°C operating temperature range.The MPC93R52FA also features two separate power supplies for output and reference clocks. This feature allows the output clock to operate at a different voltage level from the reference clock and minimise the effects of power supply noise.The MPC93R52FA is a highly integrated, low-jitter clock generator, PLL, and frequency synthesizer that is ideal for applications that require precise timing and frequency control, low-jitter, and high frequency stability.
