MSMBJSAC8.5E3 is a low capacitance, double-sided, unidirectional, low capacitance transient-voltage-suppression (TVS) device. It is designed to provide protection from high-energy inductive and/or capacitive switching transients occurring on power lines and other I/O lines. It provides protection up to the level of 8.5 volts for up to two lines.This device has a glass-passivated, double-sided structure that provides unidirectional protection of two data lines from overvoltage and reverse-polarity conditions. It exhibits excellent ESD protection characteristics and excellent clamping performance for high-energy transients. The working principle is similar to that of a Zener diode, where the conduction of the diode starts when the voltage across it reaches a particular threshold voltage.The MSMBJSAC8.5E3 is widely used to protect sensitive electronic circuits from high voltages. It is mainly used in power supplies, consumer appliances, computers, testing equipment, and other electronic devices that are prone to high-energy transients.
