TVS (transient voltage suppressors) diodes are commonly used in clamps or similar protection circuits. They effectively protect electronic devices from destructive transients. The MSMLJ8.0CAE3 is a unidirectional diode with an 8.0 V rated voltage and a 3.0 A current-handling rating.
