<p>MUR1640CT is a diode rectifier array which integrates four Schottky diodes. It uses surface mounted technology (SMT) which is widely used in hybrid circuits to improve performance and reduce overall size. The design improves the overall circuit efficiency and simplifies the circuit design.</p><p>The MUR1640CT is composed of four independent Schottky diodes with high-temperature protection against reverse polarity. With its inverse parallel design, the diode rectifier provides enhanced direct current (DC) protection from overvoltage spikes. It is an ideal choice for high-current DC applications and power line filtering for AC circuits.</p><p>The MUR1640CT uses Schottky barrier rectifier technology. This type of technology relies on a layer of metal-semiconductor, referred to as a Schottky barrier, which enables the applied current to flow more easily than in other diode types. By using the more efficient Schottky diode, more power can be extracted from the voltage reference.</p><p>This type of array also provides a better conduction capability than conventional rectifiers, thanks to the low forward voltage drop. The maximum temperature allowed for this device is 125°C. Maximum reverse voltage is 40V and the maximum forward current is 16A. It also features fast reverse-recovery times, enabling improved operation and greater reliability in circuits.</p><p>The MUR1640CT finds extensive application in applications in power electronics and automotive applications, such as power line filtering for switching supplies and AC motors, DC protection circuits and AC to DC conversion.
