The MURHF860CT is a diode–rectifier array specifically designed for automotive applications such as DC-DC converters, voltage regulators, and polarity protection. It is a three phase device that comprises three schottky diodes in a single package and offers low forward voltage drops (VF), fast switching, and excellent heat dissipation.

This device produces low power switching loss and is qualified to AEC-Q101 standards.The device has a maximum forward current of 1.5A and a maximum ripple current of 4.5A at an ambient temperature of 175°C. It has a reverse voltage rating of 600V and can withstand peak reverse voltages up to 650V. The MURHF860CT has an operating junction temperature up to 175°C.

The device has a typical reverse recovery time of 2ns. In addition, it offers low forward voltage drops (VF) of 0.19V (typical) and 0.29V (maximum) at IT(AV) = 1.5A. The device also has surge overload ratings of up to 22A (1ms) and 30A (10µs) transient peak. The MURHF860CT is provided in the SO-8 small outline package and is suitable for SMT assembly.

In terms of its working principle, the MURHF860CT has an anode and a cathode, and in between them is an alternating current (AC) supply. When the AC present flows through the diode, these two terminals act as a semi-conductor. When the forward bias is applied in a high enough voltage to the anode, it will generate a conduction channel. The current flowing through the diode is the same, no matter if the diode is forward biased or reverse biased. When this current flow is adequate, it will flow through the diode in the forward direction.

Once the current through the device is reversed, it acts as a rectifier. The peaks of the voltage in the alternating current waves will cause the current to flow in the same direction and build up a charge across the device. This in turn will allow the device to transfer the energy generated from the alternating current across the diode.
