MXL1.5KE10A - TVS - Diodes
MXL1.5KE10A is a Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode that is designed to provide protection from voltage spikes and other forms of electrostatic discharge. It is made from a P-N junction of silicon dioxide, and has been engineered to provide overvoltage protection, low leakage, and fast response time.

MXL1.5KE10A TVS diodes are used in a wide range of applications, including automotive, industrial, medical, computing, telecommunications, and consumer electronics. Working Principle
MXL1.5KE10A TVS diodes function as overvoltage suppressors by providing a reliably low resistance path, thus allowing a current to dissipate quickly, and preventing the voltage from rising to a dangerous level. During normal conditions, the diode is in a non-conductive state, thereby preventing current from flowing. However, when an overvoltage event occurs, the junction of the diode is quickly broken down, thereby allowing current to pass through. This process happens in an exceedingly short period of time, typically 2 nanoseconds or less.
In the event of an overvoltage, the amount of charge that can be dissipated is limited by the device\'s breakdown voltage rating. This breakdown voltage is determined by the diode\'s PN junction\'s reverse breakdown voltage, the device\'s rated peak pulse current, and the diode\'s capacitance. The higher the breakdown voltage, the more charge can be dissipated before the device fails.
These devices can also be used in reverse-protection applications. Here, they serve to protect against transient overvoltages by limiting the amount of current that can flow during an overvoltage event. This is done by creating a forward-biased PN junction, limiting the reverse leakage current that can flow during the overvoltage event.
MXL1.5KE10A TVS diodes are designed to provide high levels of overvoltage protection, as well as to reduce the risks associated with electrostatic discharge.
