TVS (transient voltage suppressors) diodes, also known as surge suppressors, are devices that help protect other electrical components from damage due to voltage surges. This includes protection from over-voltage, under-voltage, electrostatic discharge and transient over-voltage. Working Principle of MXSMLJ8.5CAE3

The MXSMLJ8.5CAE3 works by clipping the voltage peak and diverting some of the surge energy to a safe path.
