The NBC12429AFA clock generator is a high-performance CMOS device designed to produce any frequency within much wider ranges than traditional crystal oscillators. It uses the Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) technology and employs high-frequency voltage-controlled oscillators to perform frequency selection and locking. The device is well suited for applications that require high-frequency accuracy and low-jittering functions.

This device employs Pulse Frequency Modulation as its key technology to achieve precision frequency selection in an extremely wide range of up to two orders of magnitude. This wide range of frequency selection is made possible by the use of high-frequency voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs). The VCO used in the NBC12429AFA clock generator is a solid-state design and electrically tunable. This allows the device to output frequency from 0.5MHz to 500MHz within an accuracy of 2ppm.
