Working principleThe NCV1117ST33T3G integrates a high performance Low Drop Out (LDO) regulator and a voltage supervisor with an associated reset output. The LDO regulator has an adjustable output voltage from 0.75V to 3.6V, ensuring a regulated output at high current level with excellent noise performance. The LDO regulator also includes a current limiting circuit to protect the load in case of a short circuit. The voltage supervisor monitors the VIN rail and activates the reset output when the input voltage decreases below the undervoltage lockout threshold (UVLO), to ensure the microcontroller and other ICs connected to the regulated output will perform below their optimal operating voltage. The typical UVLO threshold is 2.35V. When the regulator output is short circuit, the current limiter will activate to reduce the output current to a safe level.
