NVT2010PW,118 is an integrated digital logic chip in the logic translator family used for a number of interconnection applications. It is a high performance logic level conversion chip that is used to transmute digital signals with varying voltage levels.

Applications

This device utilizes the low active power characteristics of the power efficient process such as BiCMOS, combining voltage point, low power consumption and a wide range operating temperature.

NVT2010PW,118 can be used for a wide variety of applications including high speed bidirectional logic level conversion, interfacing microcontrollers to logic, and logic interfaces for communication systems. The device is also used for TTL to 5V or 3V logic interface and 5V or 3V logic interface to TTL.

The NVT2010PW,118 is also used in circuit designs that require local power supply, providing a power supply with maximum power output of up to 10 Watts.

Working Principle

The power efficient design of the integrated logic chip is made possible by the use of on-chip active buffers and differential pair amplifiers. The design uses both a driver and a receiver allowing for bi-directional communication.

The logic chip is series controlled with an input voltage level range from 0.5V to 5.5V. When an input voltage is detected outside of this range the device works to keep the output voltage level inside the proper voltage range.

The device also contains a level shifting circuit, which makes it able to shift between logic levels in both directions. The integrated logic chip also uses a power-saving method known as reduced switching mode, which decreases the power consumption during operation.
