PCM1864EVM

The PCM1864EVM evaluation and demonstration board is a ready-to-use PCM microphone interface platform designed to evaluate the performance of the TI PCM1864 audio CODEC. It provides all of the digital and analog I/O functions needed to effectively test the TI PCM1864 audio CODEC in a variety of applications.

The PCM1864EVM includes:

• A TI PCM1864 stereo CODEC
• A stereo ADC with up to 20 MHz sample rate
• A stereo DAC with up to 20 MHz sample rate
• Stereo on-board microphones
• Stereo headphone jacks
• Input and output level adjustment pots
• A Zorana-family microcontroller with wireless I/O
• An onboard 16-bit CODEC designed for acoustic measurements and voice recording
• A pair of 24-bit audio amplifiers for driving external headphones
• USB and I2C connectors for connecting to the PCM1864EVM

The PCM1864EVM offers a complete, off-the-shelf solution for evaluating the TI PCM1864 audio CODEC in audio measurement and voice recording applications. It features an I2C/USB interface for connecting to a Windows computer to control the encoding, program the CODEC, and/or listen to audio samples. The PCM1864EVM also supports multiple digital domain operations such as direct from ADC/DAC, stereo encoding/decoding, and line-by-line operation for recording applications.

The PCM1864EVM features a rich set of software functions to help the user test, evaluate, and customize the CODEC\'s features. The PCM1864EVM includes sample applications that demonstrate how to interface with the CODEC and use its powerful features.
