Electromagnetic Interference/Radio Frequency Interference (EMI/RFI) is a growing concern in today\'s electronic world. As the technology we use advances, so does the need to protect our sensitive electronic components from the increasingly larger amount of interference our appliances and devices create. PEMI2STD/LG,115 is a type of EMI/RFI filters that guards our electronic devices from the hazardous effects of EMI/RFI.
PEMI2STD/LG,115 EMI/RFI filters are comprised of LC (inductor-capacitor) networks, which provide a low-cost and effective way to guard against different types of interference. The LC network consists of a capacitor connected in series with several inductors. The capacitor blocks direct current (DC) whilst the inductors only block alternating current (AC); this allows for separation of signals that are frequency dependent. An LC network can also be combined with a resistor to produce an RC (resistor-capacitor) network, which is an effective solution for attenuating higher frequencies.
The PEMI2STD/LG,115 EMI/RFI filter can be used in a variety of applications, from high-frequency signal processing for communication links, to low-frequency power filtering for home electronics and appliances. This filter is designed with a wide frequency range, uniquely enabling it to filter both low and high frequency signals accordingly. The PEMI2STD/LG,115 filter is also designed to be extremely compact, with a size of just over 2 × 2 × 2 cm, making it the perfect fit for nearly any application requirements.
Working principle of PEMI2STD/LG,115 LC Networks is all about the voltage, current, and inductance relationship. Voltage across the capacitor will remain constant while current through the inductors is decreasing with time. The inductor lags the voltage across it, and this lagging induces inductance in the line, which is measured as the inductive reactance. All of the current flowing through the inductor is converted to an opposing voltage by the inductor, which then is dissipated throughout the circuitry. The voltage drop across the inductor and capacitor is equal to zero, so the total voltage throughout the network is constant.
