PT5815A

The PT5815A is a DC-DC converters integrated with transistor stages into a low-cost, surface-mount package. It is designed to boost voltage, provide electrical isolation and regulate a supply of volts of electricity from a secondary source. In the secondary stage, two N-Channel MOSFETs (NMOS) are used to regulate the output voltage. The output voltage is adjustable via a resistive divider with external resistors.

The working principle of buck-boost converters is to charge the output capacitor with the current from the primary stage. When the output voltage rises, the buck-boost converter will stop receiving input current and recharge the output capacitor. Then, the output voltage is regulated by using the adjustable resistors of the secondary stage to output the output current.

The PT5815A is designed with multifaceted protections such as overload protection, short-circuit protection and thermal protection. There are also good tolerances for input voltage, temperature and current. This adds additional safety and stability to the converter.
