The PT7A7513WE is a versatile supervisor that can be used in a wide range of applications to protect microcontrollers and other sensitive circuitry from damage due to over voltage and over temperature. The PT7A7513WE is a 5V active-low PWM supervisor with independent thermal protection for a variety of applications including: computer system and power supply protection, LED drive and control, automotive and other embedded applications.
The PT7A7513WE has a built-in 5V regulator that provides an ultra-low operating current (typically less than 1uA) and enables the supervisor to be continuously powered while operating. The regulated 5V output is used to supply the voltage sensing and threshold comparators, as well as the open drain output to the microcontroller. The PT7A7513WE is capable of monitoring microcontroller voltage levels up to 30V and thermal levels up to +85°C.
The PT7A7513WE is a versatile supervisory solution with dual monitoring functions; under-voltage- and over-temperature-protection. The on-die voltage detection circuit monitors the voltage of the microcontroller and activates the output in the case of an over-voltage event. The internal thermal sensor monitors the temperature of the device and activates the output upon reaching a user programmable threshold. The open drain output of the PT7A7513WE will remain activated until either the voltage returns to its normal operating level or the temperature falls below the threshold. This allows the device to keep the microcontroller in a low power state until the conditions return to normal thus protecting the device from further damage.
The PT7A7513WE also features independent anti-ringing protection with a user programmable duration of up to 1920us. This prevents the output signal from false triggering, ensuring that only valid inputs cause the output to activate.
The PT7A7513WE is ideal for a variety of applications, including but not limited to: computer systems and power supplies (desktop, server, laptop), LED drive and control, automotive and other embedded systems, industrial equipment and general microcontroller supervision applications.
The PT7A7513WE provides superior protection while simultaneously reducing its impact on the system design. The adjustable thresholds and window delay allow the supervisor to be configured to best protect the system without adversely affecting system performance.
