Working Principle of Q6008LH458

The Q6008LH458 is a bidirectional semiconductor device with four layers of semiconductor doping, allowing current to flow in both directions in an AC circuit, according to the input voltage. The TRIAC has three pins: Gate (G), Main Terminal 1 (MT1) and Main Terminal 2 (MT2). The Gate pin is used for the triggering process. When CTRL (negative) and MT1 (positive) inputs are applied, a trigger current flowing from G to MT2 turns the TRIAC on, allowing the current to flow from MT1 to MT2. When CTRL is high (positive) and MT2 is low (negative), a trigger current flows from G to MT1, and the TRIAC again turns on, allowing the current to flow from MT2 to MT1, completing the switching of current in the AC circuit.
