LED lighting has become more widely used in various fields and situations due to its energy-saving, environmental-friendly and even various effects. The RT8462GS is a programmable switcher designed with high efficiency and low power loss, which greatly reduces the cost of the whole lamp power supply.

In addition to RT8462GS superior conversion capability, it also provides an integrated PWM dimming interface that allows the user to directly control the current output and the brightness of the LEDs. Its current adjustment range is wide, and the output current is adjustable between 0.25A and 4A. Through the built-in dimming circuit, multiple LED strings can be dimmed simultaneously and independently.

The working principle of RT8462GS is based on the Buck-Boost regulator. Its Buck-Boost regulator switch between Buck and Boost mode automatically to provide constant output current, depending on the input voltage. When the input voltage is higher than the output voltage, the buck mode is enabled and the circuit will act as a buck regulator to convert the input voltage to output voltage. When the input voltage is lower than the output voltage, the boost mode will be enabled and the circuit will act as a boost regulator to boost up the input voltage to the desired output voltage.
